'Intuition used in structures'

. Flatness is a basic requirement
. Position, seize and number are elementary means of expression to achieve harmony
. No sensitiveness, spontaneity, expressionism, but the influence of the temperament and the creative intuition of the artist [is what counts]
. When choosing surfaces and colours, the value of the number is important, but this should always be directed by the creative intuition. Science is just a help.

Van Doesburg says in a letter to Antony Kok (23/1/1930) that he is involved in his work in systematic construction, with the elimination of intuition, and with the development of a mathematical, controllable universal form.

I cut Van Doesburgs contra compositions diagonally and orthogonally into pieces and use these components in my own structures, combining intuition with calculation in the series 'TVD' (2012).
